sons are gardening

They are planting turnips today and showing off their water melon patch. They wanted you to see they can use heavier equipment than a lawn mower.

Wow, look at those watermelons already!! We are sooo very behind you where the growing season is concerned. With such huge gardens, it's no wonder they need a tractor!! lol

Now that's serious gardening.

And how is Fleta?

I haven't had any watermelon yet this summer. My dad used to say watermelon wasn't any good before the 4th of July. I keep meaning to get some, but I'm the only one who likes it, and I forget when I'm at the store. I can't just go out to the garden. lol

I just cannot believe this garden you just do not see many big ones like this anymore.....is Sammy selling all of that stuff...In Caney Ks Rhea kings Daddy...old at the time maybe 80 always grew a BIG garden...he would take his station wagon full of tomatoes cucumbers ect...sit in the parking lot of the only grocery store in town and sell his vegetables...He always sold it all and the store owners did not ever say one word to him! If they had he might have put on his WW2 uniform and went up there and protested.....Once the county had the gall to raise his property taxes...he dressed in his ww2 uniform and took all of his war medals and went to the court house to have a chat with them....they lowered his taxes back down! He was very old at that time...
