Son brought me a 5 gallon bucket of cantaloupe. He had picked his whole patch because the armadillo was eating them.
I thought they would not be any good and said well they will make good chicken food. I picked one up awhile ago and it was soft. I cut it and it was dead ripe.
I am going to call him and say bring me some more of those green melons.

I dont like fruit....could you get him to grow me a crop of chocolate?! Well Sister has just about made a week of it. You reckon she'll have any hair left when she gets home? LOL
Have you ever pickled cantaloupe, canned it? It's quite yummy, not too much work and you can't buy it at the store!
I like them better than watermelon.
