I am going out and mow the yard this morning. maybe this will be the next to last time this year. I think mowing is a complete waste of time and energy and I don't do it any more than I have too. My neighbor used to mow every other day. I ask him why and he said he like riding the mower. since gas got so high he doesn't mow so often. I suppose he doesn't like riding the mower any longer.

Funny and apt of you, Patsy, to think through his remarks so well. There is something pleasing, to me, about mowing the lawn and seeing it looking so neat and smooth but I resist the job when it is hot. Maybe it's the sweat streaming down my face, keeping me from being able to see the end result that takes away my pleasure?
You know...money can take the fun out of anything. Pop took his grand girls to the park to play...it was free. If they had had to pay to get in like 6 flags...it probably would not have been as much fun.
Larry likes mowing too, but this summer it has rained so much that it really has been a pain!
I actually enjoy mowing the lawn and love the looks of a neatly mowed one...with the price of gas, though, I'll soon have to buy a goat to come eat the grass! lol
What luxury a sit and ride motor mower - what fun - better than the push motor mower I have - kills the back.

I always hated having a yard to maintain. That's one of the luxuries of apartment living. I can sit by my window and watch maintenance mow.
