Oat meal breakfast

I had oatmeal and raisins for breakfast, when i was a girl at home I would have had good rich cream over the oat meal but now I am reduced to soy milk.
This breakfast triggered a memory of our sister Debbie.
Daddy had butchered a hog and we had rendered the fat there by getting cracklings. Corn bread with cracklings was a favorite food with good fresh milk poured over it.
We were all enjoying our supper when daddy glanced over at deb who's place at the table was next to daddy, remember how she always sat next to dad.. Deb had picked out the cracklings and piled them beside her bowl. daddy ask her "why are you not eating your cracklings"? Debbie said "don't like bugs".
Memories are wonderful.

Soy milk? Even I, with my oat and rice brans, the guar gum and apple fiber, even I can't find any pleasure in soy milk. How'd you come to like it?

And I know what you mean about memories being wonderful. Every now and again I'll have a vivid memory of someone I loved and it's almost like they're in the room with me. I always feel blessed for the moment, and happy too.

I have been having oatmeal and raisens for breakfast most morning too. The book I read said it was a very good breakfast.

I got 4 pullet eggs yesterday.

Astrid like oats raw like Daddy did.

I was not fond of the cracklins like Debbie Lee...they looked sort of nasty.
