Rooster and a hen.
I am waiting for day light again. It is raining off and on and the house is cool. I turned my heat on.
I got 6 eggs day before yesterday and 8 yesterday. I had a 4 quart ice cream bucket 3/4 full but I sent them home with son because he thought his hens were not laying. I think they are hiding their nest and he doesn't know where to look.
October is all most gone, Nov. is a cold month for us. No killing frost yet but it will hit any day now.
I still have books to read.

I got 4 eggs yesterday. I am doing as Jimmy Carter said we should in the 1970s...wearing a sweater. Oh, you know I am a tightwad. But it is probably colder up there than here.
I know you don't want me to retire...think of all the time I would have to bug you on the computer.
I am staying home today...it is so nice. I could get into the retirement mode really easy. Like sweetest sister...I have not got dressed yet. I must go to the mailbox and get my 2 papers to read....hmmmmmmmmm if I retired I could not afford them. I take the Little Rock paper and the local. The local is about $35 every 3 months adn the little rock is more I think.
Turn your heat up and have a good day with your books. I am reading about Dianna Ross.
I just love the looks of those Silkies, they're gorgeous! Hard to believe we're nearing the end of October already...we've had frost on some mornings over here and I imagine we'll start getting some snow soon. Maybe we'll be lucky and it will only come in time for Christmas!! lol
the first year i moved up here, i didn't use my heat until the middle of january (and it was cold.) i just snuggled under the covers when i was home. and cooked in the oven a lot. i'm going to try to get greg to keep the heat off for another couple of weeks. i like it cold. he's allergic to the 'cold' he has to take allergy medicine when he's going to be in cold weather/water. it makes him hive up!
