The chicks are growing and they are trying to fly out of their brooder so I hunted up a old lace curtain and covered the top of the brooder.
Yesterday I went to set the waterier in the brooder and the top popped off! One quart of water dumped in the brooder. I had to do a fast rescue and clean up . Life is never dull when you have baby chicks. I will be glad when the weather warms up or the chicks get full feathers so I can move them out side for now they are parked in the laundry room and this makes for trouble when I do laundry. the chicks will be 14 days old Monday.
My chicks the bantam hatched out are still doing great. The little hen has 9 babies that range in age of 1 week to 4 weeks. The last 3 chicks are 1/2 bantam and out of the big rooster that I had. It will be interesting to see how they look when grown. I have 35 baby chicks . I am going to have to try selling some of them on the radio program . they have a call in program on the Berryville radio station where you can call and try to sell things you have for sale.
