I have tried to keep my mouth shut about Micheal Jackson and the circus in California on his death and burial but Betty over at dogs and new tricks has set me off.
I notice that people keep saying he was a musical genius and they really liked his music.
I didn't like his music. I thought it was just so much screaming as for his videos I can not find anything great about a grown man prancing around in black tights and screaming in a high pitched voice while dancing and grabbing his crotch with a white gloved hand.
He was accused of being a pedophile, never convicted it is true but the fact that he in a TV enter view said he liked to sleep with children can not be over looked by some of us.
It is said he never had a childhood and that is why he was the way he was, perhaps but the fact remains he was one odd person to say the least. He had so many operations on his nose he had no nose left. His skin was white whether this was caused by a physical aliment or by bleaching of his skin I don't know and I could care less.
OJ Simpson has disappeared into the Nevada prison system and MJ as gone to his grave and at the risk of being labeled a racist I wont miss either man.
MJ was one sick puppy and all the yelling about his great music can not change the fact. He cut off his nose to spite his face and died and all the media yelling how great his music was can not change that fact and all that remains to be learned is how many drugs it took to end his life.

Funny that thoughts of Michael Jackson's death would bring up thoughts of OJ Simpson's imprisonment for you. Other than race, I don't see any similarity. If you had compared Michael's death to that of another pop singer like Elvis or John Lennon, I could at least see where you were coming from.
Like you, I think it's all a bit much. One out of six people supposedly watched the funeral (it was carried live by the three networks). Meanwhile, few people even know about the nuclear talks in Russia.

OJ Simpson and MJ are both celebrities that were tried for crimes that many non-celebrities think were horendous crimes against nature. Both were aquited in infamous jury triles. Both were convited in the court of public opinion, not withstanding the non-quilty jury verdicts. One is now an elderly black man in prison who wishes he was not. One is now a dead black junky who wishes he was not.
Same story, same ending.

I dunno. I had a friend (now dead) who worked for an attorney in LA who represented a boy who sued MJ for improper behavior. My friend sent me copies of the deposition and complaint. Had trouble deciding if this was just money-hungry people after a "deep pocket" or if the guy was really a twisted sicko. It is hard sometimes to separate the behavior of a celebrity from their talent (I mean, my dad hates Jane Fonda for what I guess are obvious reasons). I didn't like MJs music before I had my doubts about his moral character.
