Mark Sanford

Come on in Mark.

The bantam hen that has 9 chicks of different ages had two that were very noticeable roosters and since Kelly took the old mean rooster to the sale my 6 ladies in the laying pen had not had any male championship.

I had read that when a flock of hens don't have a rooster in the flock one of the hens will start trying to mate with the hens. I really thought this was just a story but yesterday I saw one of the red hens covering another hen trying to be a rooster and I decided that a rooster was needed in the hen pen.

This morning I was able to grab one of the roosters, He made a terrible scream thinking he was headed for the frying pan but now he is in with 6 sex starved hens and will soon learn to do the deed or learn to run very fast.

I have never named my chickens but when I tossed him among the 6 ladies I said I christian you Mark Sanford!

Maybe he will find a soul mate and a wife.

He will probably be happy with all the hens to pick from! Your sense of humor never ceases to amaze me Patsy. I love it. Hope you and your family has a wonderful 4th of July.
