peace prize

There is some thing ironic that the leader, and commander in chief of a nation that is involved in two wars and is talking about expanding the war in Afghanistan, would receive the Nobel peace prize.
I have studied as to why they gave the award to President Obama and the only thing I can see is that the award is because he is not George W.Bush.
I would like to see our President earn this award by stopping the two wars that we are currently involved and become a man of peace in deed.

I agree. he needs to get our soldiers home. They can "protect the homeland" from here. Maybe the president can mend some fences after we get us infidels off their holy land.

It may clarify this issue if we realize The Nobel Peace Prize committee has a long history of awarding the prize to people who "point in the direction of peace," like Aung San Suu Kyi, the Burmese opponent of the military junta who remains in house arrest, and Desmond Tutu, awarded years before the demise of apartheid.
