singing hen

I hung some grass on a string to see what the chickens would do. They jumped and had a green meal. I thought it was great fun but I don't know how the chickens felt about having to jump for breakfast.
The pullets were singing their hearts out this morning surely they will be laying soon they are 26 weeks old now plus the 4 that I raised from my eggs are 29 weeks old.

Hi Patsy, I enjoyed catching up on your blog. Lawyers selling drugs, priests shooting people, racial discord and singing chickens. There is never a dull moment over here! Keep up the good work. I love it!

Singing hens made me think of a little verse my mother used to say,

'Whistling girls and crowing hens always come to some bad end.'

Did you ever hear that when you were growing up?
