Hazel Powell 1921-1992
My mother lived a life of sacrifice for her family. She had no ambition other than to serve her husband and children. She devoted her life to our service. If she ever had a thought of wanting to follow a path other than the one my father chose for them, she never expressed it in word or deed. The bible say of such a woman her children will rise up and call her blessed, I know that all of mothers children called her blessed. She was a perfect wife for my father and their life together was a smooth happy one. I find it a strange contradiction that my father having such a wife and finding her satisfactory in all aspects, should have raise his four daughter to be right the opposite.I am sure he influenced our attitudes about life,I am safe in saying that none of his daughters find it easy to bend their will to the will of their husband on matter of everyday life. My sisters and myself have opinions about everything and we express them in high voice. If our husbands don't agree with us they can either change their views to suit ours or keep quiet. I have often heard a small voice saying to me, It is hard to kick against the pricks! Often when you do you get a bruised heel. I have had many a bruise on my heel!

I think grandma was a treasure. My daughter Victoria reminds me of her Grandma would let you know what she thought of things she did not keep her thoughts inside.
to cheryl I think fleta told you how to set up your blog and she forgot to tell you about posting, I can't find your post page???? what gives? patsy
I HAVENT GOTTEN THAT FAR YET. I AM JUST COMMENTING.
Grandma loved all her family. And that was it. She was like the
poor man in the Bible who would give anyway anything they owned if someone wanted it. She loved to
give. I guess it was a good thing that she never attended Church regularly...she would have given away the farm.
No Mom was not one to keep her thoughts to herself....if she had a thought we all knew it.
