The hatch
My banties had started setting and it was so hot I just didn,t have the energy to try to separate them besides I had no place left to put them with 7 hens all trying to set and no more hens laying. What a mess. I just threw up my hands and said forget it.
this morning I went out and 5 of the eggs had hatched!The cutes little balls of fluff you ever saw. All of the hens were fighting over the babies. I knew something had to be done so I gathered the chicks up and caught one of the hens and put her in the hen house after locking all of the other chickens out.
If anymore eggs hatch I will put them with the mother in the hen house. I guess I am going to have more chickens after all.

I have about 8 chickens trying to sit on eggs. I gather all the eggs each day...they sit on nothing. I will be glad when the sitting season is over.
