Star's rest lives on a mountain side in New Mexico, she broke her wrist while her husband was away working.
This made me think of something daddy told long ago.
When we lived at Carrollton Ar. there was a older man and woman who lived on the mountian near Carrollton.
Daddy said they were a older couple and she was very fat and the fellow was skinny and small. One day she went in the pen to feed their hogs who were captured Ar. razor backs hogs. The lady fell and broke her leg and the old man could not lift her.
He had to go off the mountain for help.
He cut his wife a large stick to fight the hogs off with and went down the mountain on foot for help.
Daddy was one of the men who went back with him and got the lady out of the hog pen. I guess they probably brought a doctor who set the leg in their mountain cabin.

The hogs probably would have eaten her. They will eat anything. The hog you posted was hand raised and sold to a hunting reserve where the boy killed it...how sad. I knew there was another story to that big hog. Sis 3
Can you imagine her fear? Not to mention that she had to lie there and smell the pigsty for who knows how long!
