sick of chicks

I am sick and tired of broody hens and tired of old hens hatching 3 chicks then leaving the nest.
It has rained so much and my chicken pens look like a swamp and are beginning to have a bad Oder. I am sick of rain.
The good thing is that the chicks have stop chasing the smaller chicks that are in the pen.
Truth is I have enough chicks and don't need or want any more but the hens will keep setting thro' July.
It strange that in the winter I can't wait till spring and getting new chickens but now I am tired of the mess.

Hah, isn't that just the way it is! I never thought I'd hear you say it, but I know exactly how it feels to want something new, different, exciting to think about and do. Maybe it's time for a holiday, Patsy.

Well Patty call your brother Clayton....This is ALL his fault anyway. He would like to have about half of them I am sure.

I only got one egg today. I gather the eggs everyday...just make the hens leave the nest. I have a little metal stick to drag them off because i don't like them to peck me. Sis 3

I wish you wouldn't keep making me jealous with all your babies LOL

Sounds like you may have to remove the eggs from those old broodies so that you don't get any more chicks.

The look lovely tho Patsy
