wild life

In the evening time I go out on my porch and listen for the coyotes singing. They run along the creek in the hollow below my house. They are wild and free and speak to me of times past when nature was more than highway traffic and sounds of automobile passing in the night with their music boxes booming.

There are cliffs along the creek and I suppose that is where they den and raise their young.
The coyote hunt the deer and rabbits for food and some people take offence of their living in our country but not me. Often our ears are full of barking dogs, drunken curses and the blare of cable TV. Give me the coyotes song any time.

I agree. They keep the deer and rabbit population in balance.

They will kill the chickens.

I love and admire coyotes. Dogs kill more chickens around here than coyotes; put your chickens up at night and coyotes won't bother them. Dogs will get them 24 hours a day.

I will opt out on the coyotes. They have been the cause of many a death here. This area is eat up with them, over run with them. Once they find a food source, like my chickens, they wont stop coming until there are no more chickens to be eaten. I came from a city where there was yelling, loud radios and such, and hated that too. I guess we just have to make the best of what we are dealt and smile. :) Hugs, Kelly
