Walebone country

We have thought that Joseph married a daughter of John Powell named Nancy. I think now that this Joseph is closer to John Powell's age than his children's age and I think Nancy McClain was likely Nancy Whalebone, John Powell's half sister. I found references to the above Maryland records on the net that say Joseph McClain's father John McClain (Patsy will like this) once owned a farm in Maryland called The Gleanings, inn 1739 he purchased in a part of Prince George's County.

Fleta is right I love it that Nancy Whalebone, (granddaughter of that thief imprisoned and hung in the tower of London and daughter of the thieving street urchin Duke Whalebone) owned the land our mighty government is build on. The land of a thief is APPROPRIATE for the thieves whom walk those gilded hall ways every day, don't you think?

Oh, I love it! Yes, I do. So you think Nannie was Nancy Whalebone...John Powell's half sister.

That side of the family have the tale that we are cousins of Geo. Washington.

Joseph died in 1805 so he could have been closer to John Powell's age...well Nannie was quite a bit younger than John so that would fit!

We know John Powell had a daughter named Elizabeth. He left his 3 sons land and left Elizabeth a COW...
