light on the subject

A last minute u-turn by the U.S. Congress has saved the traditional light bulb from being rendered obsolete in the new year.

From January 1, the government had planned to ban the cheap, old incandescent bulbs in favour of more energy efficient lighting.

'The American people want less government intrusion into their lives, not more, and that includes staying out of their personal light bulb choices,'
.The article goes on to report that the new light bulbs will be the choice for the public because the companies have converted their manufacturing line to make the new bulbs but not so fast seems the old bulbs are still produced in china so the old will be available.
