Colonel, another dog story

This is ole Colonel, the best dog dad ever owned. He traded him to Jack Robertson  for a team and wagon dad was sorry to see the dog go but couldn't turn the trade down.
They breed female dogs to Colonel then sold his pups at the Green Forest  sale barn by auction.

Once dad was driving goats with him  , the goats would ran down over the hill. Colonel would go get the run away.
soon dad noticed Colonel would go after the run away goat but failed to bring the goat back. dad followed the dog and saw Colonel would follow the goat over the hill then jumped on the goat' back and he broke the
goats back. dead goats don't run away but once.

COLONEL WAS A GOOD DOG BUT WHEN DAD WAS
WORKING ON THE FARM HE ALWAYS HAD A GOOD STOCK DOG.
Grandpa Powell couldn't train a dog but he always took great pride in dad's dogs.
Colonel was bright yellow and white .
Donnie Powell was a smart aleck when he was young. We had been bragging on Colonel and Donnie said he could whip Colonel so we gave Donnie a club and sicked Colonel on Donnie , Donnie was striking at the dog and Colonel was going for Donnie . Dad came to the door and saw what we were doing and made us stop. I think it would have been like the goats that ran over the hill except the dead thing would have been Donnie.  We would not have cared because it was always  Richard, Jimmy and me against Donnie in those days.
