My Buff Pekin is the prettiest chicken I own,but this last season she was the sorriest chick I owned. She laid maybe a dozen eggs and went to setting . She set all summer and never stayed with a nest long enough to hatch. She would just move to another clutch of eggs.
I tried putting her by her self and that didn't work finally she was crowded up with another hen and when 3 chicks hatched i took her and the chicks to a pen by their selves.
She never raised a chick. She just wanted to set on them like they were eggs. They all died and I suspect she killed them. I will try her one more season but if she doesn't lay more or set better she is gone.

Either I or Clayton or Poorboy will get her. The Buff banties look about the same and they lay good.
she is not going to change....kill her now...save the winter feed....
