Cats and fog.
Can you see the fog in the hollow? This comes from my neighbor's chicken houses. The warm chickens give off steam when the temperature is just right and makes fog in the hollow.
When I went to feed my neighbors white cat was in my chicken pen. I would have like to knock it in the head but was afraid my neighbor was watching. He would have been unhappy if I killed his cat so I gave it some hard whack with my hoe and let him out the gate. He had managed to come thro the wire on top of the pen and couldn't get back out.
He probably wont want to get back in if he remembers me.
Fog
by Carl Sandburg —
The fog comes
on little cat feet.
It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

I have always loved the fog poem. I have always disliked cats.
I never heard the fog poem before. It sure in nice.
Too bad about the cat in your chicken pen. I hope it does stay away now that it knows it isn't welcome.
Have you heard of that game "Whack A Mole". I thought of it when you said you'd whacked the cat. New game idea, maybe.
