Tom Sawyer

The first book I read was Tom Sawyer. Mrs. Teter started to read the book to us and after a few pages she stopped. I ask her when she was going to read some more of Tom Sawyer? she said she didn't have time and here is the book, you read it. I said I can't read a big book like that and she told me that she would help me with the words if I needed help.

I was in the third grade and it was the beginning of the school year.

I read the book and started on a voyage of reading and I have never stopped.

I remember the scene shown here. Aunt Polly told Tom he had too white wash the fence soon Tom had the neighbor boys paying him for the privilege of doing Tom's work.

I have spent many happy hours lost between the covers of this book.

to work

Fleta goes back to work today, George is happy. I hear the rooster crowing.
This is a photo of maple wood cemetery in Harrison I think, I stole it from Betty or Erin. I can't remember which.

sick and tired of being sick

I just put Janet's name and birth and death date on her stone. I am just at lost for words and nothing I can say will make it better so I said just the bare facts.
My bronchitis isn't much better. I am tired of gasping for every breath.

you can't make this stuff up!

On black Friday near where sister resides a man inside walmart put a game in his belt so he could rescue his grandson, he was grabbed by police, never mind why they were inside walmart arresting people. anyway they arrest him and while leading him away, still inside the door they perform some action on him knocking him to the floor he is bleeding and unconscious. They managed to get him up and away where he spent the night in jail.
His daughter commented that she would never go out to the store on black Friday again and said they needed more security in the store. are you crazy? your father was knocked down by the cops and you want more cops? besides when has it came to pass that you are shop lifting before leaving the store?
Now a 4 year old was beaten to death in Ohio by a boy Friend of his mother. The family reported the boy Friend beat a dog to death last month. I wonder how he managed to keep out of jail if he killed a dog?
In Chicago there was a child that weighed 200 pounds. the welfare took him away from his mother, they said she wasn't doing enough to prevent him from eating. They placed him in foster care. That should take care of his eating problem.
A young woman lost her dog and stand on the street corner in a bikini advertising the lost dog. She has unwanted attention from men, one fellow sent her email of his poodle and his private parts, mans not dogs! she thinks maybe she will stop advertising on the street for dog.
BRIGHTON, Colo. (AP) – A lawsuit claims Adams County authorities detained a deaf man for 25 days in jail without providing a sign-language interpreter before domestic assault charges were eventually dropped.Someone made a complaint that the fellow and his girl Friend were making to much racket in motel , cops knocked door down when he wouldn't respond to their knocks and threw him in the poke for 25 days.
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) – Larry Asbery, 58, was hospitalized for liver problems. He almost died while he was in the hospital after his kidneys also failed.HE ARRIVES HOME TO FIND PEOPLE LIVING IN HIS HOUSE. they rented house from a broker they claim.
Records show Asbery still owns the house. CBS4 verified with Adams County authorities that all paperwork that was examined indicate Asbery is the rightful owner.

“Colorado law is pretty clear that the people in his home have no right to stay in that home,” Barrows said.

The next step for Asbery appears to be going to court to obtain an order for eviction.

That all folks!

sunday

A few days past I heard a rooster crowing in the silkie pen so Sammy has at least one rooster with his silkies.
I have had a cold and have not felt well for a week now last night I couldn't breath well and was afraid I might have Pneumonia but about might night I went to sleep and awoke with a loose cough and have been able to cough up some of the crap.
no rain this morning. Kelly is coming today to put a new thermostat on my heating , cooling unit.
Tony came by yesterday but didn't stay long, the daughter called and said she was leaving the mother-in-laws and would be at the house soon. Tony went rushing out the door. I guess he was going home to jiggle the baby some more.
Kelly is here.

Rain drop falling on my head

new photo

This is a photo I took off facebook. Alicia Wade. look at that pouty mouth.

jiggling the bed

I spoke to tony last night. He said the new baby was great. He was laying on the bed and jiggling the bed so she would go to sleep. sound sort of spoilt to you?
When my sisters were babies I would lay beside them and giggle the bed and wave a dish towel around over them to keep the flies away while they sleep.
Daddy would walk the floor and sing bye oh baby to get the baby to sleep.\
When my babies came along I learned if you put them on the bed and left them alone they would go to sleep if they wanted too and if not nothing would get them to sleep any way.
The house dogs spent the night on the porch. The one started to bark the minute I lay down and I got up took the coop opened the door on said coop. she ran out in the yard and the other dog followed. I went to bed and promptly went to sleep. No jiggling the bed for dogs for me.
I talked to fleta last night she said she was trying to sleep and I said I am sorry for bothering you and she said that is OK, I can't sleep all the kids are here and it is a long time before they will go to sleep so she couldn't go to sleep she explained. I should have ask her if she was jiggling the bed?
When my sisters were babies I sleep in a constant puddle of piss . when mama had a new baby she sent the older baby to sleep with me.

It was the same with my babies except Tony would always manage to pee on my pillow.I would throw it in the floor full of pee.
I wonder if Helen jiggles the bed for her grand kids when they spend the night? probably.
the last baby I slept with was my granddaughter Jamie Lynn. She was about two month old and Kelly left her with me for the night. I say slept but I just lay there waiting for day light. I was afraid I might lay on her.
I don't imagine Betty ever sleeps with her grand children. Larry probably does and jiggles the bed for them. Larry is the nurturing person in that family. Betty has worked ever since she got out of school and she loves her grand children but she is like me.Twas when mine went home and it was quite that I loved them best.
I am eating cold dressing for breakfast. Taste better cold and I made my own cranberry sauce. It is so good I am going to buy a few packages and freeze them for later.

snowbrush

There is this blogger who calls himself snowbrush . All of his post are unusal to say the least. He talks about all the pain med he takes and if true he must be high as a kite most days and he is a fan of marjuana and talks freely about his trips on that plant but today he made a post about friendship , his wife, peggy and snowbrush maintained a friendship with since 1987. Greg has been their friend all these years . Snowbrush states that Greg is a slob, housekeeping, yard work and general neatness is not in the cards with greg and snowbrush and peggy find these traits unexceptial.
I am reading think how dull all this about the "Friend" who is a slob and how snowbrush is neat as a pin and then the other shoe drops with a loud smack.
The only way i can tell you this is cut and paste so I will at the risk of having snowbrush claim copyright on me. QUOTE
"Peggy and I met Greg in 1987 through a national group marriage organization that was headquartered here in Eugene. He considered me morose and Peggy bitchy, and we were indifferent to him."
I am thinking marriage organization? what is he talking about? never fear snowbrush will tell you what he means! QUOTE
"also unlike us in that Greg's generosity was boundless. For example, a year after we met him, Peggy and I moved to Minneapolis to be a part of a group marriage. When the marriage fell apart two years later, Peggy came back to Oregon alone leaving me to move our stuff, and it was a lot of stuff."
get it ! snowbrush and Peggy part of a group marriage!
Now hold on the best is yet to come. QUOTE!
"During the mid-nineties, Greg and Peggy became lovers, and we all discussed him moving in with us as an equal partner. Unfortunately, he was different from Peggy and me in two ways that stopped us cold. One was that if being a total slob regarding your house and yard is a zero, and being a total neat freak is a hundred, then Greg was a 15 and Peggy and I were 85's. The second problem was that Greg spent money as fast as he got it while Peggy and I squirreled it away. His fun-loving spontaneity was great in a friendship, but we couldn’t imagine happily sharing finances in an intimate relationship. Greg assured us that he would change his housekeeping habits, and that our financial differences could be worked out through written agreements.

When we were unmoved, Greg proposed to Peggy that she live at his house part of the time and here part of the time. This suited her and me, and the arrangement continued for a few years until she got tired of living in two places. The next day, Greg dropped off everything the two of them had shared (their "living Christmas tree" is now 20’ tall). Then he didn’t talk to us for a year."

Get that? PEGGY,SNOWBRUSH'S WIFE AND GREG became lovers! and the only fly in the ointment was the fact that GREG was a slob around the house and spent money as soon as he got it!
If you want to know more click on my title and read snowbrush's post.

Thanksgiving

Helen is cooking for Missy and Benjamin. Fleta is expecting her whole crew she said when I spoke to her on the phone yesterday she was going to use Helen's receipt to make rolls and cinnamon rolls for today . The problem was she only had one package of yeast. George was in town and I said she better call him and get more yeast.
Kelly said he was coming by since he had to go in to work so we will have company after all.
Tony invited me down for dinner and viewing the GRAND baby but I begged off due to my wish to lay around the house.
We are having dressing and chicken thighs. They were on sale for 5 pound at 2.50 and I think they will be easy to fix and taste pretty good. I have corn bread cooked yesterday and drying out to which I will add 6 brown and serve rolls Sammy cooked yesterday this will make the dressing. I have real cranberries to make for sauce. I love cranberries so that is for me. Smashed potatoes and store bought gravy in the jar is all I plan on doing.
I made pumpkin pies yesterday so that is all folks.
I suppose Betty will go to the red headed girl's house probably, she usually does.

Putting Shooter, Galla Feist, To The Test

I know this is larry's dog. I remember when it was lost at the airport and larry had to go down and get the dog, shooter.

Taz on the wood again

I am going to start putting brother's vedios on here to advertise his squirrel dogs. I expect squirrel in the pot soon larry.

thankful

I still have roses blooming in my yard.
It is cool and damp this morning, maybe we will see the sun.
I found hungry chickens just now when I went out. Sammy
doesn't feed enough in my opinion. I got 6 eggs since I failed to gather them yesterday.
Fleta said she would be home until Monday, poor ole George. she said he liked for her to be home because she found things for him to do and he didn't get bored.
I said I bet George was like I was when I worked at Tyson in the supply room and people would ask don't you get bored?. I always replied there are lots of things worse than being bored.
I am going to make some pumpkin pies today and a pan of corn bread for dressing tomorrow. I think it will just be me and Sammy so I am not going to do much in the way of cooking.
Helen called and the trip to California is off as of now. She said she remembered some thing to be thankful for , over the holidays Mike took all of his vacation time and holidays which was a lot of days. Thanksgiving Helen will be thankful that she doesn't have to see or hear him.
Someone has been sending Helen notices of places looking for work , jobs that require little skill and pay less. She said she thinks it is Mike's new girl friend hoping that Helen will find a job and Mike wont have to pay alimony.
so sad too bad new women , mike agreed to better or worse and this is the worse and Helen won't be able to work for the reminder of her life. I think mike told new women they could get married if old wife went to work. Honey I doubt if Mike wants to get married again after all those years with sister he knows no woman can measure up to sister's record.
Have a good vacation, Mike.
Helen has some prospects of a man. This fellow that lives in the building where she lives tracked her down wanting to know where she got her scooter. He said they could take a ride over there and see if he could buy a scooter then we could ride together he said. This fellow currently rides a bike, a one of those that you have to supply the power your self. Helen told him she was real busy and could not remember the name of the place where she bought the machine.
Sister Betty said I had to post every day, Helen and all I know is what you tell me.

talking desert

We are having duck weather but not as much as Betty is because I saw where she had had over 5 inches of liquids falling from the sky.
I talked to Fleta last night she was checking to see if I could still read.
Libby's pumpkin pie receipt. Kelly will eat a whole pie by him self.
Ingredients
1 (9 inch) unbaked deep dish pie crust
3/4 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
2 eggs
1 (15 ounce) can LIBBY'S® 100% Pure Pumpkin
1 (12 fluid ounce) can NESTLE® CARNATION® Evaporated Milk
Directions
1.Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
2.Combine sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger and cloves in small bowl. Beat eggs lightly in large bowl. Stir in pumpkin and sugar-spice mixture. Gradually stir in evaporated milk. Pour into pie shell.
3.Bake for 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees F.; bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack for 2 hours. Serve immediately or refrigerate. (Do not freeze as this will cause the crust to separate from the filling.)

monday

Betty said there was a NEW RULE THAT i HAD TO POST EVERY DAY.
I am OK I just don't have much to say. I went to walmart yesterday. I got a couple of books and some anti. fungal creme. I called and made an appointment to see the doctor tomorrow, My skin is burning around my wound and my leg keeps on hurting so I want some pain med.
I have not been able to sleep well and am hoping the pill bottle will get filled and help me sleep.
I am OK, just don't have much to say.
I saw Bill Maher telling about the repub's candidates. He said he had been criticizing Obama but after listening to the candidates that sent him running back to Obama's arms.
I am going to order Janet's stone Friday.
It is cool and damp here.
I keep seeing the revolts across the country and listening to the leaders talking about what to do about the people taking up residency in the streets. I don't think the leaders have a clue. I keep thinking of 1968.
Kelly came by Sunday and said he thought that Obama pushing for jobs for the vet would cost a lot of people in the work force their jobs. I told him not to worry, the poor vets were so messed up many of them would never be able to hold down a job. The fact is many are all ready on the streets in our cities and our leaders are afraid that many of the protesters are vets. They have a right to worry. We have a large group of men coming back to this country with only one asset to their job search. They have been trained to kill.
see you tomorrow.

Tim Knight

Out west there is a wild life photographer that takes wonderful photos. His name is Tim Knight. I don't think there is a chance this is aunt Betty's son but when I see his photos signed with The Name Tim Knight I always say, What?
I don't think our Tim is noted for taking photos of cougars, in fact I heard he was sent down the river or is that up the river? for a period of time for killing a cougar.

counting my blessings

My granddaughter came to visit . She is the mother of 3 of my great grandchildren. The children show their father's heritage.

one month

Janet has been gone a month today. I have managed to get every thing done that had to be done in case I wake up dead some morning soon. I didn't want to leave a inheritance nightmare for the boys if I died . There are still a few things to do but I have been assured that what is left to do would not be a problem for them.

I remember when my sister Debbie died and dad was grieving and

I told him it was for the best. He told me I know but it is so hard. I thought at the time I understood how he felt but now I know I didn't have a clue.

I don't wish to put a damper on your day . I just had to say something.

Table Rock lake building in progress

and finished. Do you see daddy down there girls working?
He told me how he hung over the side by ropes and worked and how most men were scared to do what he did. He worked over the side of the ship while he was aboard ship during world war 11 He told me he painted the ship while they were in motion. The painting of the ship was constant work year around.
If you look close you can see the rock crusher in the left hand corner, this is where the boy from Green Forest pulled his arm off. He got it caught in the crusher and unable to free his arm the crusher was going to pull him in but he set his feet against a brace and pulled his arm off there by saving his life. His name has escapes me at this time but I will remember later.

sunday

An old grave yard in the UK. It looks so peaceful. This weather is amazing. 50 degrees at 6 this am and now 64 degrees at 7:30. The wind is blowing in gust if not it might get hot today.
Sunday morning again. Fleta came by and brought me a punkin pie Saturday on her way to pick up her grand children.
I think Helen is going back to California for Thanksgiving. me? I will just stay home. I bought some chicken thighs and I think I Will make chicken and dressing.
Sammy bought some 2 dollar chickens at the sale yesterday. Looked like mixed breeds from the porch. I think he had 7 in the pen.

I feed the guineas on the silkie roof pen every morning now. Less chance of a dog attack and less food waste.
Sammy is building a new chicken house for his chickens . he has too many chickens for the old hen house.
He has to cut the hole in the fence for the chickens to get in their new home and it will be finished after puting a lock on the door.

Fleta's squakeing in the night.

roses

No killing frost on the hill yet as seen in my late blooming roses.

friday

I went to feed this morning and found a nice day except the wind was gusting at times and nearly blew me off the hill.
Sammy sold 8 silkie roosters and it is possible that the 11 he has left is all hen.
We are not getting many eggs because the young pullets have not started producing and the older hens are resting .

money and sin

“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” —1st Timothy 6:10

Let me speak plainly, I know nothing about college football or any other games
colleges play for money. Yes for money that is why in Penn state they had one of the most heinous crimes against young children go unreported for years because the school didn't want to loose the revenue that this so called coach brought into the pockets of the school.
Joe Paterno the coach was fired because he knew of the sexual attacks on young boys and did not report it to police instead he told his boss and that fellow told some one else.
Now it is rumored that two "prominent columnists" are currently investigating a rumor that Jerry Sandusky's Second Mile Foundation, a non-profit organization aimed to serve underprivileged youths, was "pimping out young boys to rich (Penn State) donors."
Apparently it is reported that it was well known that Sandusky was using his office at Penn state which he was allowed to keep after he retired in 1999 to molest young boys over the years.
•Report: The Pennsylvania Attorney General's office dropped a bombshell on not only the sports world but many worlds far-reaching when it released a 23-page grand jury report with graphic detail and evidence about Sandusky's decades-long sexual abuse of eight specific victims. Sandusky was arrested on 40 criminal charges. Penn State Athletic Director Tim Curley and another high-ranking PSU administrator, Gary Schultz, were charged with perjury. It was immediately apparent, based on evidence in the grand jury report, that people in some of the highest positions of leadership at Penn State knew about Sandusky's sexual abuse as long ago as 1998 and had engaged in large-scale institutional cover up.
This is about money and sex plain and simple and all the people who knew about this in the college and did nothing should go to jail along with Sandusky.

poor ole Perry

Rick perry couldn't remember what he was against nor what he was for.... just proves what I have always suspected they are for what ever they think will get them elected and against any thing they think that will get them elected.
-- It's rare that a politician evokes pity, but in 55 seconds during Wednesday night's presidential debate, Rick Perry managed it.

The Texas governor promised to eliminate three federal government agencies, and then searched his memory -- for what seemed like an eternity -- to name a third.

"It's three government agencies when I get there that are gone: Commerce, Education and the um, what's the third one there. Let's see," Perry said. He turned to Texas Rep. Ron Paul, looking for some help, but got nothing but a remark from Paul that he would eliminate five agencies.

fleta's photo

she has out done her self this time.

the duggars are at it again

If Betty at Harrison hasn't been asleep I know what her post will say....It will be an even 20 for Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar, who announced Tuesday that they're expecting their 20th child. The Duggars, stars of their own TLC show, are a source of fascination for some people, since super-sized families aren't the norm the way they were about a century ago.

Betty looks on this family with disapproval, me I guess I really don't care either way but I still think the mother will die in child birth if they don't call a halt to this madness.

There were 8 of us and I must say my brothers and sisters are the best gift my father and mother gave me. Sometime in a weak moment I think I wish I had more children and then I remember how hard it was to feed and care for the four I had and think are you crazy?

morning

I am awake and on line for a while. I hope I can lay down for a few more winks after a short time.
I am having horrible dreams every night. Dream about people dieing or the dream this night was dreaming about people in danger. I will be glad when they stop.
I found this photo of a japanes maple and am posting it for your enjoyment.
I enjoyed seeing the photo of the deer hunters , Betty. The boy's father was a freind of Bens and the boy hunts on Ratzaff land. The child wanted Tony in the photo.
There are a lot of deer on that farm but tony doesn't deer hunt.
Fleta said George was busy trying to keep the hunter away from his deer.

I recieved a gift of 10 dollars today from Virginia. Thank you girl.

andy is dead

Andy is dead so as fleta said he doesn't have any books, ebook or others. The people alive can only guess what Andy would like and dis like now. actually since while he was 92 years old the last year he probably didn't read many books or do much else except prepare for his job which was about 5 minutes on CBS but in the end he had to give that up and stated he hated retiring but on a happy note he was only retired 3 weeks when he died.

Andy Rooney

fleta is on the outs with a dead man because he said he didn't like ebooks, Andy Rooney had a stubble sense of humor and if you listen to what he said he said he had wrote several books and ebooks were cutting into his profit that was the reason he didn't like ebooks.

Andy's book, "The Fortunes of War," isn't available in the Kindle store. (Or at least I couldn't find it by searching.)

But you can get it at the Nook store, and it's free. so you see nook is hitting Andy in his pocket and that was the reason he didn't like ebooks.

sale

Sammy and Kel have gone to the sale. Kelly had two roosters and SAM had 4 bantam rooster and 9 pullets. He wanted help and said he would wait for Kelly but I got out here and made him move. we caught 8 silkie roosters 13 bantams and two bantam pullets Kel wanted two hens to go with his two roosters. Then he called Kel and he said he was on his way. I know that means anything from out the door to going to catch roosters. I told SAM to call him back and tell Kel I would buy gas for SAM so for him to wait. He said OK. Alone at last.

Arkansas Elk Bugling

Fleta gone to see the elk so I visited ponca in my window.

Andy Rooney doesn't like e-books

Andy Rooney, whose prickly wit was long a mainstay of CBS News and whose homespun commentary on “60 Minutes,” delivered every week from 1978 until 2011, made him a household name, died Friday in New York City.

Andy said.. “A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.”
Men wake up aroused in the morning. We can't help it. We just wake up and we want you. And the women are thinking, "How can he want me the way I look in the morning?" It's because we can't see you. We have no blood anywhere near our optic nerve.”
Nothing in fine print is ever good news.”
Because over the past few years, more money has been spent on breast implants and Viagra than is spent on Alzheimer's Disease research, it is believed that by the year 2030 there will be a large number of people wandering around with huge breasts an”
“A computer will do what you tell it to do, but that may be much different from what you had in mind”
Andy Rooney: "My Lucky Life"
In his last regularly scheduled appearance on "60 Minutes," Andy Rooney says, "I've done a lot of complaining here, but of all the things I've complained about, I can't complain about my life."

saturday

This is Foxy, Janet's dog. She is neurotic and I want to get rid of her. Sammy says he doesn't want her killed cause Janet will haunt him.
He intends to take her to the sale at Huntsville and offer her, her coop and 20 dollars to anyone who will take her. If that doesn't work I will find another remedy.
She wont stay out side unless we are out there with her. I might break her of that tho' she will whine then bark wanting out side. I have been setting the coop and her on the porch and leaving her hoping she will grow to like the great out doors. probably wont work but at least I am getting some rest at night when she starts her barking. Either she will stop barking at night wanting me to let her out or she will learn to live in the out doors.
The nurse came Thursday, she had never been here before and she said how fresh the house smelled. I told her that was due to Helen my sister who had been here cleaning.
I doing fair but it seems I am going over in my mind remembering scenes from Janet's life more so the last couple of days.
I hear the roosters calling .must go feed.

poor reunion

found this on the net....

4 THE POOR-FOORE FAMILY GATHERING

(Tune, Auld Lang Syne.)

Three men once stood where now we stand,

On this Xew England shore;
Self-exiled to a stranger land —

Three men and they were Poor !

Chorus.

Three men and they were Poor my friends;

Three men and they were Poor;
Self-exiled to a stranger land —

Three men and they were Poor !

A recitation entitled " the Pride of Battery B," by
F. H. Gassoway, was rendered by Mrs, Daisy Cutler
Porter, of Boston.

On exhibition, Mr. Edward P. Poore, of Lawrence,
had, and for sale, an excellent photograph of a pen and
ink drawing of the birthplace of Gen. Enoch Poore,
of Revolutionary fame. This house stands on the
homestead of the General's great grandfather Daniel
Poore, the immigrant ancestor, but nearer the Shaw-
shin than the first house on the farm stood. Mr. John
M. Poor, No. 20 Park St., Haverhill, presiding
officer of the day, who is very much interested in the
general, and has collected much information relating
to him, has for sale photographs of him from a paint-
ing by Kosciusko, also of his advertisement or order
issued at Yalley Forge, Jan. 21st, 1778, to deserters
from the army, which he exhibited, and sells them at
twenty-five cents each, also photographs of Dr.
Daniel W. Poor at the same price.

At this reunion a large party repaired to the out-
door audience seats in the grove, where a family group
photograph was successfully taken by Geo. W. AY.
Bartlett, artist, Haverhill, Mass., Avho sells it at fifty
cents each. The photograph was a decided success,
and is now highly prized as a souvenir of the occa-
sion.

An amusing incident, not down on the programme,
occurred at this time, viz :

form his work, just as the cousins Avere putting on

that boy's picture). Accordingly Mr. President with
a benign countenance and a fatherly hand led the
aforesaid colored lad to the rear of the seats, and pat-
ting him on the head placed him behind a large pine
tree. It was well done. All eyes were now turned
to the camera — a very clear and excellent photograph
was obtained; but on examination it appears the
twelve-year-old had stolen from his hiding place and
taken a back seat, — while the artist captured the
woolly head with the rest of the Poor children.

short 46 years

I been thinking about Janet all evening going back over her life and remembering. I wish it had been me who died instead of her. When I came home from the hospital with her she was in her bassinet and a neighbor had come over to see the new baby girl. We looked at her in her crib and she was as black as she could be. I grabbed her and ran into the yard screaming. My neighbor came from his yard and said give her to me. He took her by her heals and hung her by her feet and jerked her and she began to cry soon she was pink again. We went to the hospital by ambulance that day but the doctors said they couldn't find any thing wrong. When I think of that morning I guess I was blessed that I had her for 46 years but they were a very short 46 years.

Another Church Of Christ member ...

Birther Pat Boone and the legendary call to Obama's Kenyan 'grandmother'

Pat Boone

Donna on just me has mentioned two famous people she has rubbed elbows with one of which was the singer Pat Boone, this got me to thinking and I remembered that Pat who was raised in the church of Christ in Tenn. had trouble with that church and holding meeting in his back yard and baptising people in his swimming pool. This as I remember was especially distasteful to the church in which he was raised.
I seem to remember that the church had kicked him out but found one article that stated that Boone was thinking about taking him self off the Church's rolls.
Boone believes "we don't all have our doctrine all completely correct but God doesn't judge us on our understanding of doctrine. He judges our heart, our intent, our purpose, our love and how we treat other people."

For the past three decades, Boone has been a member of the Church on the Way in Van Nuys, a Foursquare Gospel congregation led by pastor Jack Hayford. The Pentecostal church is home to numerous celebrities.

(8/17/01). Guests on King’s popular show were: Pat Boone; his daughter Lindy; Max Lucado, minister and well-known author from San Antonio; Dave Owen, a “pastor” from Malibu; and Ken Copeland, a “faith healer” who hails from Fort Worth.

The distressing story was this. Back in June, Pat Boone’s grandson, twenty-four-year-old Ryan, fell from the top of a three-story building and was critically injured. Even now, two months later, he is still in a coma. Understandably, the family is frantic with pain and fear and have sought faith healing preachers.
Shirley, the daughter of country music great Red Foley and his wife, singer Judy Martin, "We are now into our tenth year since the accident after which the doctors told us that Ryan wouldn't live and if he did, he'd be a 'vegetable', but I am glad to report that he's far from that.

What I found seemed to confirm that Boone is still firm in his faith after 77 years walking the path of a Hollywood cerleberty, which is a testmony as to how strong Pat's faith must be.
As a foot note I found this..
President Barack Obama may have released his birth certificate this spring to debunk rumors that he was born outside the United States, but old school crooner Pat Boone maintains that our nation’s leader originated in Africa and has shown the world “a photo-shopped fraud.”

Boone gave the interview after he introduced Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann at California’s GOP Convention.

Boone, once a wholesome singer who produced several hits in the 1950s, is now a proud member of the Beverly Hills Tea Party. He has had a history of taking controversial stands, including calling the theory of evoluton “nonsensical” and comparing gay rights protests to the Mumbai terror attacks.

Sissy's chickens

My husbands niece has lived all her life in the city of Sacramento.
She called me about my daughter dying and told me she was working at the city dump driving a bull dozier. She has a flock of about 70 birds that lives just out side the fence where the equipment is parked. She feeds the chickens corn and they get the rest of their feed from the land.
Sissy also has a flock of pigeons that try to get some of the corn. She said she didn't know where the first chickens came from. They just arrived one day and decided this was a good place to live.
