I said yesterday that I would enjoy the political debate in the coming year and it has started. I stumbled on to this blog , a fellow from KY. who is crying into his beer because he doesn't like the choices that the GOP has offered him for president. He is wanting a 3rd. party candidate to vote for.
I laughed at his reasoning as to the unfitness of the GOP choices but the main reason he has is he thinks they MUST get Obama out of office before he ruins "his" country. Here is one quote from his blog...
Because I love my country, I will do what I have to do to make sure Obama does not have another four years to destroy it, and then because I love my country, I will abandon the GOP for a political party capable of mounting a credible campaign.
It is plain to see after reading back thro' this fellows blog he is a died in the wool tea party member who hates Obama , calling him a Marxians and other unfounded names. the only repub person running for president he was really happy with was Michele Bachmann and to a lesser degree Newt Gingrich , tho he did say he didn't approve of Newt's sex life.
anyway The fun has started already!
On a side note while reading his blog I saw that he was married to a immigrant probably from below the border, why is it that these know it so much as to what is good for their country often choice for their mate some poor brow beaten Mexican woman who would never dare stand up to a man?

last day of this year

The last day of 2011, all is well here. It looks like another nice day in store for us. I have been to feed. I got 8 eggs yesterday but now from the yellow hens pen.
Chickens start laying big time in February so it wont be long we see these chickens laying.

7 eggs yesterday and that is nothing to write home about considering we have at least 50 hens since Sammy buys the feed it doesn't hurt me so I will just enjoy the eggs and watching the chickens.The dogs chase the guineas so much they spend most of their time up on top of the pens and would like to get into the pens but I am sure they would make life miserable for my roosters so I harden my heart against the poor birds and leave them out. I feed them on top of a pen so they can get enough to eat but they risk their lives when they come down for water or green stuff.
This is the next to the last day of the year and the new year will soon be here. 2012 is an election year so I will enjoy watching the election new. I saw where some one was saying they thought it would be Obama/Clinton on the ticket but I don't think so. I think it will be more likely that Clinton will retire and settle in the home she has in NY state.

The news media is getting all lathered up for Romney but if the repubs do nominate him he will be beat because his religion is a rope around his neck.

nice warm day

looking for a place to lay a egg? I got 5 eggs in this hen house yesterday. I am sure they were not laid in one day. at first I got excited thinking the silkies were laying and then I realized the nest was 3 foot off the ground and the silkies can't fly it had to be one or two of the hens bought 3 weeks ago by Sammy.
I heard one of the silkies singing the eggs song again this morning so surly they will start soon.
We are having a nice day here in the Ozarks more like spring than winter.

I went to feed this morning, the sun is shining it looks like we will have a nice day. I feed the silkies and was setting in my chair watching them and all at once I noticed one silkie walking around and singing the egg song. I believe that means this is a hen and she will be laying soon. soooo I have one silkie hen at least.
I gathered the eggs and got six so I have 6 bantams laying.
I never see the neighbors cats any more. I think Sammy's dogs keeps them run off.
Today is nurse day.
I went and got hog jowl yesterday. I have Greece around my mouth . I love that country.
the neighbors have a new grand son, they sent it to little rock. Something is wrong with his guts. He can't digest food. People that use drugs and then give birth are bringing such grief into their lives. I know for a fact that the grand parents used drugs for years and I would be pretty sure the mother and father have lived that life style and now they have this child that probably will never be normal.
It seems to me we are seeing more of these stricken babies in our area all the time.

He beat the odds

Kelly has a Holstein heifer that he bought at a sale two years back, she was one of a twin the other being a bull calf he was told. when she began to come in heat I told him there was not much chance she would breed but he kept her against my advice and Wednesday morning she delivered a healthy bull calf. Kelly has a milk cow!
I don't know if they were mistaken about her being a twin because there is not much of a chance that a heifer will breed if she is twin to a male calf or pehaps she was that one in a 10% out of 100 that did breed.

Robert finally got his good gifts! I called every hour to get Fleta to let him have his good gifts. She has been giving gifts of cloths, Robert said

two days and Christmas will be here.
Fleta has ALL of her grand children and her two sons under her roof for a few days.
When she went to get the little ones she gave their mother the photos she had made of the red hair angles in a nice frame.
The children saw the contents cause their mother opened the gift on the spot according to Fleta instructions.
One the way back to grandma's house Robert was strangely silent and Fleta knew something was wrong after coaching him for a while he said he didn't want a picture of sissy for Christmas. he declared he wanted trucks. Big surprise. The children gifts are under the tree wrapped and waiting for Christmas morning but grandma said she would have to let them open their gifts this morning because Robert was not happy.
When I called Fleta last night I could hear the red haired girl's voice above all others. excitement was in the air. Today they are putting in Fleta's countor tops and she is staying home . I suppose that means the only one of us working today is Clayton.
I got up during the night and turned off the floor heater it was Hot in here.

civil war in Iraq

the united states has pulled out of Iraq and after only a few days the country is swiftly spinning into a civil war that may last for years. This was reported years ago by people in the know that said Saddam held the country together and when he was removed the country would be in a civil war and a divide country.
This crime can be laid to George Bush's feet. The country was a thriving oil producing country and our government coveted their wealth in oil now they have very little producing wells. They have very little electric, and water the very necessary items of life water and food is also in short supply.

So far, though, only 17.9% or $65 million is funded.

4 eggs this morning I went to feed after SAM and didn't approve of his job. I was remained when he was a Young boy I sent him to feed our calf and later followed along behind and found he had dumped the feed over the fence onto the ground. That wasn't the problem this morning, I think the chickens should receive corn and pellets and SAM only gave them corn.
I don't understand why he is in such a hurry. I like to watch them eat.
truth is Sammy's thinks of them as dollars and I think of them as living being that depend on me for their life.
I heard a women on tradio has pigs for sale but didn't say how old or what kind, said just call and leave her a message. I have found most of the people who call in things for sale are usually not available when you call their number. I don't call them but Sammy does and has yet to get a person to answer their phone.
That is how we got stuck with this Chihuahua dog. they can't sell dogs on tradio but a woman called and said she had a Chihuahua dog to give away. Sammy had Janet call right away and she said she had already gave dog away but by the way she had the puppies for sale.
sure they bought the puppies and I saw how people were getting around selling dogs on tradio.
I think I will call and give them Betty's number for dog give away.She usually has pups for sale. She might sell lots of dogs after she tells them she gave sister throw away dog.
The weather is damp put not unpleasant.
I like dogs out side and ours spend a lot of time out side now since my daughter has died. She would always let them in right away but now some times they are out for 3 or 4 hours before the door is open,. as soon as soon as the door is open the neurotic dog, Foxy burst into the open door and the chihuahua is right behind her.
nurse is coming, I will be glad to see her I have been out of 4 by4's since Sunday. a 4by4 is a gauze bandage material that is the only think i have found that will catch this drainage well. When I don't have them the next best things are the baby paper diapers and I keep them on hand to use when I am out of 4by4's

early morning

I went to feed this morning . I missed yesterday and Sammy had to feed when he got up.

I gathered 8 eggs this morning having missed yesterday I guess 4 eggs a day.

The blue eggs from one of the pullets we raised and the brown eggs unknown as to it's beginning but it is unusual to get a dark brown egg from a bantam so I am showing it off also.

I got an early call from sis in Arizona she is upset with number one son, you are in big trouble Bill and I want you to know I tried to get you in more trouble.

Hillary

while digging around my room yesterday looking for something that I have forgot what it was that I was searching for I came across a elect Hillary bumper sticker Winnie Jo sent me when we were young and innocent. for a moment all the hope came rushing back and then I realized the glass ceiling may have been cracked but it will not be busted by Hillary.

When I see photos of Hillary these days I always notice how tired she looks. Obama has literally ran her to the ground so If I was choosing for her I would retire to NY and live in the fine house Hilliary built.

What brought this post to head was I saw in the news where some people were reviving the rotocalls for Hillary for president, some where out in the wild blue yonder.

Even tho' she failed to be president, I can take comfort, cross your fingers, Palin also failed in that endeavor .

so I say go home Hillary and let the man child rule over this mess.

got home from the doctor, no news. went to the dollar store and bought some items especially stuff to mop the floor with Mr. clean and pine sol makes mopping much easier. I will do the deed in the morning while I am more able to do manual labor.

Today a 1 O'clock I have to be at the doctors office. I found yesterday that my doctor will not be there. no blood drawn today. I will play dumb and so will escape the needle. a woman doctor will be a substitute for Dr. emery.


I was amazed by the north Korean people who took on so when their leader died. I can't understand such devotion to a leader. Either we are mislead as to the leader or these people are crazy. weeping in the streets and the female telecaster was so choked up she could hardly speak. amazing!not since Kennedy died have I seen such a public display of grief because of a death of a leader in this country.


Here it is a moment of silence and then lets get on with life. Most of the time they are lucky if there is no dancing in the streets because of a leaders death here.


I spoke of Obama care not giving me choices and Betty in Harrison thought I was criticizing Obama care. Not so just being silly. My care at the hospital was the best I had received at the hands of the hospital and laid that to Obama care.


I don't know what obama care did to improve my care but I liked it.


Kelly and Tony went and filled in Janet's grave, while setting the stone they left a shallow hole just behind the stone and the sons brought dirt and filled it in.

The "something different " site in my side bar put me on to this. I thought he must have had a bad dream but i did a google search and sure enough the Duggars have took a photo of their dead baby.
I really don't have a problem with them and their 19 children if that is what they want fine but I believe someone has finally slipped a gear on this. How do you take a photo of the dead child's feet being held in the hand of the mother or is it the father. OK people enough is enough.

Betty in Harrison is in a month retirement but surly this will make her come alive!

Since I just buried my daughter two month ago I can say that the death of a child is almost more than a mother can bare and the grief is so great a person can't have a clear mind so I will say who ever did this it probably wasn't the mother since I carried 4 children and by the time you felt movement the child was "real" to the mom.

I suppose Fleta and Betty are back to work this morning. Fleta will be 63 years old in a week or so so she can retire as soon as she wishes.

Betty has a teacher pension so she can retire if she wants but she probably will work at least another year.

I am going to the doctor tomorrow, They made an appointment for me when I left the hospital.

Under Obama care you are not given any choices.. we made you an appointment, now go. I have forgot what time I am suppose to be there so will have to call and see, seems like it was 1;30 we will see if my memory serves me well or not when I call.

I am going to the grave yard today. This will be the first time I have been there since we buried her. I dread it but I want to see the stone in place so I will go.
Sometimes it just seems that this is a bad dream and I will wake and this will be past.
no pigs were sold yesterday. Sam bought another yellow chicken. He likes the yellow hens.
That cousin that called in his own obit called and told Sammy, Kelly had took him out to dinner. I laughed and told SAM, Kelly poor wont take anyone out to dinner especially Steven!

I think he heard that Kelly had my check in his pocket and thought if he told SAM the lie I would hear about it and worry Kelly was wasting my money. He wasted his time cause if there is one person I know it is Kelly poor.

sale day

I went out to see the chickens this and found them very thirsty again.
The sun is shining here this morning. Sammy has plans to go to the sale today. More chickens I am sure, I think I will give Sammy a check in case any pigs sell today.
maybe they will sell a kangaroo or a bear or two perhaps.
I called Kelly and told him he could buy a pig or two for Christmas, no telling what we will have with both of them buying wholesale.
Kelly ask about calves, I said I am not feeding bottle calves so Judy better get ready.
Sammy wanted to know what I told Kelly after I told him he took the check and ran. I am sure he wanted to get ahead of Kelly.

Helen reported that Benjamin, Missy and Helen took the day off yesterday just to relax and enjoy life.
Billy called and wanted Helen to set with the kids, which she said bring them over. Just a couple of days early Bill had been really sharp with her accusing her of calling all the time. I guess it is OK to call when you want something. huh Bill?
I told Helen she needed to write him off and forget the day he was born. Few days past she said Mike had called Kristy and told her Billy was a poor excuse for a son. Mike is right.
The sister's who work for a living are glad this is Friday. to me and Helen it is just another day.

christmas gifts

It is raining here , thunder and lighting over sisters way just rain here.
I have had a good day. Nurse comes again tomorrow. they are coming by twice a week. I will be glad when they go back to 0nce a week.

Helen called, her daughter sent Christmas gifts for Helen to spread around. Included was gift for x's new woman. Helen said she didn't mind but I thought what a daughter. Too cheap to spend postage for new woman but expected her mother to spread the cheer for her.
Sister took x's and girl Friend's gifts to Billy to deliver knowing Billy the gifts may never be delivered! I think I would have called her and told her I had her gift and could I bring it by.

Tony is going south Friday to see the grand baby.
I baked a couple Mrs. smith's pies today. Mrs. smiths is pre baked now and only requires a 30 minute cooking in oven. I was talking to Helen and forgot . They baked for 1 hour but looked ok. I guess the proof is in the puddin or in the pie.

she simply amazes me when I see her in a new part. Her very image changes with the part, she seems to take on the very face of her part.
Many actresses are pure fluff and beauty but streep has no such handicaps. hers is a face that is able to reflect a character as easly as some might put on a new coat.

I got my Christmas lights up while I waited for the Internet.
I went to town and bought a few groceries.
I have down loaded several books to read.
I got a book wrote by a pat Conroy. They described him as a great writer but he wasn't known by me so I took a look at his books and found he wrote the prince of tides. that was a good book.
The title of the book is "my losing season". he was a basketball player in high school and he is a good writer. If you want to read some non fiction you might take a chance on this book

Fleta what do you think of this computer? the price is 900. is it worth it? would it be that much better than a 500 dollar one and how would we be able to get it to delivered at walmart if they didn't have it in stock? I guess I could get a bank card and have you buy it on line if you think that would be easier. It makes me tired just think about having to change every thing out. Sunday

Sammy went to the sale yesterday. I told him to buy a pig if they had any. He came home with apples and two high dollar hens. I went out to see the chickens as soon as it got day light and couldn't tell the new hens from the others.

He said they had pigs but he didn't have enough money. I ask how much were they? he replied 40 dollars and when I pointed out I gave him 50 he said but then I wouldn't have had money for any thing else.

I thought about this for a while and decided that what he was saying , he had bought the two hens and the apples and then he didn't have nought left to buy the pig.

I really don't want a pig but I thought it would give him a reason for moving around and getting some exercise.

When I went out I had to break the ice on the chicken waters , the chickens were really thirsty. Me and SAM don't see eye to eye on the care of live stock. I think if they need water or feed they need it now not later. Sam thinks they can wait.

I was telling Kel about this and Kelly said you need to go out and make sure he does what he is suppose to do. You don't need to do the job just walk around and over see.LOL

Relatives called The Jeffersonian Democrat newspaper in Brookville after the obit appeared to report the woman was actually alive and well. The woman herself then visited the paper.
Brookville police charged Scott Bennett, 45, with disorderly conduct on Tuesday.

Democrat editor Randy Bartley says he accepted the obituary in good faith after being unable to confirm the funeral arrangements at press time. He told The Derrick newspaper on Friday that the woman was very understanding

The colored photo is as the court house looks today, and the black and white photo was snapped in 1933.

My sisters are ignoring me. I posted this site I found that had lots of photos and maps that would be of interest to people who do genealogy and they just payed me no attention. I found this photo on the site of the Washington county KY. court house . the date was 1933. Our forefather walked into this building and got a license to marry Matilda Hilton.

The date on the building is 1816.

In 1833 Henry was here so I think the court house probably looked more like this photo in Henry's day than how it looks today.

I see a new computer

I made it out to feed the chickens again. I feel rater well, if I had stayed another day with St. Johns I might have felt so good I could go back to work at Tyson.

I tried to load my photos this morning and had trouble with this computer. I can forecast the future Fleta has a trip to make to wal-marts soon. I am going to cull this computer and have fleta come and haul me to wal-marts and pick me a new one. Maybe a nook also so Fleta get ready as soon as the holidays are over you have to take me to town.

Maybe a new camera. I could let kel have this one since it would really be a great computer for him considering what he has at his house. His wife told me the other day , Kelly never turns his computer on any more! I told her if I was stuck with his computer I wouldn't turn it on either.

pick of the litter

I have a brother born July13 , 1961 and in case some don't know I was born in 1938, my brother's name is Gilbert.

While I was in hospital one son came by for a visit and told me Gilbert had been by and said he was asking about you, he seemed concerned son said.

I said of course he was concerned he was raised by good people!

I have 2 children older than Gilbert.

When my children were young we would go to visit mama and daddy and my children delighted in calling Gilbert, Uncle Gilbert. Even tho' very young they could see the humor in the term Uncle when applied to my brother.

In the days gone by Gilbert would run and play with my children while we were there. I recall one time they killed daddy's rooster. I think they drown him. I learned about this many years later.

To cover their crime the children were looking for a place to hide the rooster so daddy wouldn't learn of their dastardly deed.

daddy still milked a cow in those days and the children took the rooster and hung him in the eves of daddy's milk born. any one who has ever milked a cow will know that while a person milks there is nothing to do except squeeze the tit and let your eyes roam , naturally you will look up and therefore that evening while milking daddy found a wet dead rooster in the eves of his barn.

Gilbert lacked the skills that my sibling's had in covering up their sins. Richard and me would never have hide the rooster in such a place. We learned to milk early on and would have realized that the rooster was in plain view of someone who was milking and letting their eyes roam. I doubt if Gilbert ever milked a cow.

Gilbert could have reaped benefits from the knowledge of his older brother and sisters while growing up but he had mama and daddy which was the most important thing.

Michelle and her husband, Jim Bob, were hoping to find out the gender of their unborn child on Thursday; but the doctor was unable to find a heartbeat, People reported. Michelle was in her second trimester.

new day, new hens

I am better, Sam bought some new hens and I managed to go out and take photos of them. He thinks they are polish because they have top knots but I think they have several different breeds mixed in. They are in the silkie pen with the silkies. I did get a photo of his small bantams too while out there.

The morning air is crisp but not unpleasant.
